Terms of Use
Effective 15 October 2026
Attorney Advertising. The material on this website may be considered attorney advertising under the rules of some jurisdictions. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
1. No attorney-client relationship
Using this website does not create an attorney-client relationship. Nothing on it is an offer to represent you. A relationship with the Firm begins only when the Firm and the client sign a written engagement agreement, and only for the matter that agreement describes.
2. Not legal advice
The content here is general information about areas in which the Firm practises. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for advice on your own facts, and you should not act or decline to act on it. Law changes, and pages here may not be current.
3. Do not send confidential information
Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through this website, a web form, or any channel the Firm has not designated for your matter. Information sent before an engagement agreement is signed is not protected as a confidence of a client and may not reach anyone in time. Statutory and court deadlines are unforgiving; if a deadline is near, say so expressly when you make contact.
4. Fees
Fees are set by the written engagement agreement signed for the matter. That agreement governs, and no figure published on this site or elsewhere overrides it. Fee arrangements, advance fees and the return of any unearned portion are handled in accordance with the District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct and other applicable professional responsibility rules. A consultation fee is a fee for the consultation; it is not a retainer and does not by itself engage the Firm.
5. No guarantee
No lawyer can guarantee a result and the Firm does not. Outcomes depend on the facts, the applicable law, the tribunal and matters outside the Firm’s control.
6. Links
Links to other sites are provided for convenience. The Firm does not control them and is not responsible for their content.
7. Privacy
See the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the District of Columbia. The Firm’s practice is limited to the matters described in its engagement agreements.
9. Changes
These terms may be updated. The version in force is the one published here on the date you use the site.
